There are many screen capturing utilities out there, so you can't say that taking a few screenshots or recording the screen is difficult. However, if you want to capture your screen on the fly, without bothering with any options, then you should look at Gyazo. It can take snapshots of the screen or record it, after which it uploads the results automatically. The application is offered free of charge, but it comes in a paid version as well and it is available for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and for iOS devices.

Gyazo's package contains two executables, for taking screenshots and for recording. All you have to do is run one of these executables and draw a rectangle on the screen and the application will start capturing right away. If you decide to take a simple screenshot, the application will display it immediately on your default web browser, along with options for sharing the image, via direct link or through various social networks.

Recordings are stored in GIF and MP4 format. When you draw a recording rectangle on your screen, the application will start recording automatically. The rectangle will remain visible, along with options for cancelling, pausing or finishing the recording. Just like screenshots, recordings are uploaded to the same place and you can view it on the same web interface. You will also find the same sharing options. The only difference is the presence of two options, for viewing the recording as a GIF or as an MP4.

Pros

Screenshots and recordings are uploaded automatically, without any user input. You can manage your screenshots and recordings on a web interface. Also, the application allows you to share them, which can be done with a single click.

Cons

You can't record for more than a few seconds. With Gyazo, capturing the screen and sharing the results can't get any easier.
